As you may already know Ebola has crossed the Atlantic Ocean into Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital where a man was treated with the virus. The hospital was treating him from September 28th-October 8th in this time one of the nurses that was treating this patient was tested positive with the virus. This means that this disease is spreading and we don’t know how fast it will be spreading into New England, DHMC is ready to treat any patients according to the valley news. JFK airport in New York are screening passengers and seeing if they have any symptoms of Ebola, if they do have a fever then they will take them to a nearby hospital. Many people think that the screening isn't effective because passengers may not fill out the questionnaire truthfully in order to be less delayed.
In my opinion I do think that people should have the knowledge about Ebola but I also think that screening passengers in an American airport is over the top. Although this is a fatal disease and what you have to go through is very painful; I think that people in the Northeast region shouldn't be as scared compared to people that live near the hospital that has been affected in Texas. I have heard many talks on the radio about how people are taking this disease in America way too seriously considering it has only been passed onto the patient’s nurse. The screening in JFK and a couple other airports isn't helping the fright among some people.
